Welcome to Sumeru Center Mount Meru (Sanskrit: मेरु) or Mount sumeru is a sacred mountain in Hindu and Jain mythology considered to be the center of the universe. It is believed to be the abode of Brahma and other deities. The mountain is said to be 80,000 leagues (450,000 km) high and located in Jambudvipa, one of the continents on earth in Hindu mythology. The existence of a center is not merely geographical, instead,we want to build it in every individual's heart. This site introduces you to various known and unknown aspects of spirituality, shares some personel experiences and takes you to the places of great spiritual importance in and around kumaon region of Himalayas. We are greatly inspired by the mountain areas of the kumaon region and especially the powerful vibrations in and around the lake city of Nainital. Spiritually, Nainital is considered as second most powerful place after Mount kailash. The central idea of this project is to explore this place which is considered to be situated in the Brahmakamal.
There must be something special about kumaon region,as many stories are narrated,in relation to this place, but i think there is much more than what is heard and told. Our aim is to discover many untold mysteries, many untold stories, and many uncovered aspects. As a human being we have a very limited range (in true sense) of understanding and realising things,as we are very much preoccupied and filled upto the brim.We straight away discard things which are even a bit deviating from our mental arena, leading us to a dead end. We are not working to give ourselves or to you what nowadays is considered to be motive behind spirituality and meditation. We are, and we want you to proceed for the journey which is leading towards the ultimate. In the way as the offshoots you will get peace of mind, satisfaction, bliss and many more things, but that is not enough, because there are many more good things which we may be getting but still we dont know about them. As we start moving ahead we are going to be aware of the unawareness, and unaware of the awareness.Taste the difference then. The joy of being here, without actually being so. Take out something from nothing, feel the gravity of the emptiness. To come at a stage where you feel that you are nothing, but still very blissful. Then starts the real melting of Ego.Simply listening to and reading about Ego won't do.Let it be sublimated from the origin.your homework is going to fetch you dividends.Constant rememberance of the ultimate is the key,to be free.Free in real sense, though still in physical or materialistic bondations. These are few of the glimpses of the entire process, now we have to be prepared to move along, once the preparation is done things will become more clearer. All through the life we are continously searching something and inturn, increasing our urge and desires. Why not now start a search that is different from the one we were indulged in.We collect lot of anxiety, frustation, sadness and despair in the process. This search will give you hope, faith, bliss and satisfaction. What many people do commonly,is they start meditation when they really find themselves in very difficult and tense situations, they want some mental peace, or then they come in contact with people who they think can bring back there life back to normalcy, they begin to feel that yes, life is a illusion, but as soon as their situation begins to come at normal pace they again are caught in the Maya or illusion. We have to work incessantly to break even the finest bonds of Maya.Finest, becuse the apparent bonds are easy to identify, but some bonds are, very fine and not idenified and understood easily. We can glorify our speech by beautifully laid words and glamourous phrases, all our intellect comes into play when we require to present ourselves in front of others, but once the real zest and meaning of life is understood,no matter how much and deep our knowledge and understanding is,we are speechless and short of words, because those things can be felt very smoothly but really hard to explain. UNDERSTANDING SPIRITUALITY How can we understand spirituality, the entire process, and the goal. The most important and the foremost factor is INCLINATION.It is the initial step, for looking into something. And unless you have the inclination you can't enter into it.So how this inclination comes?.Inclination towards spirituality is the result of the past impressions or sanskars. How early you get into it depends, upon the intensity of impact of those impressions. These past impressions are clouded and embedded under various other impressions of past and present life, and as these superficial impressions are cleared up,the embedded impressions come into play. There is a possibility of pseudoinclination or parainclinations, and they may be the result of various psychological factors and they vary with human psychology and behaviour. The sudden boom of spirituality nowadays is the result of this. The motive and the ultimate goal of this process is entirely different. It is restricted up to the worldly affairs, worldly concerns, distraction and preoccupations. And as the person spends time in this he could feel to be at the top of the world, out of the world or be in world of his own. And for all these gross factors people are entering into it, what they call spirituality and indulge in the so called meditation.Every second person, will suggest you to meditate,if any how you express despair, restlessness, mental instability or your mental tension. They are sure that meditation is the answer for all their worries. We suggest you not to call this meditation, rather take up some classes on relaxation techniques, self hypnosis or autosuggestions, and that will serve your purpose. When the inclination is present, the second step is development of INTEREST.The interest grows deep within us.And as it intensifies CRAVING occurs. This craving is the cornerstone of the entire process. The next step is ENTERANCE.This craving allows you to enter the realm of spirituality.Ones entered feel the difference and understand the real meaning of life.Be acquainted with the new surroundings.Look up with a new vision. Here starts the vision of alertness, awareness and consciousness. In other words process of merging has started,as one goes deep into it,the state of SUBMERSION begins. The person is just surrounded by it.The state of constant rememberance is achieved.Lot of devotion and sincerity is needed to achieve this state.Or infact this is the only key to reach upto this level. You don't have to do anything special or indulge in none of the difficult techniques. One has to stick on the most simple thing, but with full faith, devotion and sincerity. The real PROGRESS starts from here. The progress of any individual depends on various factors, the most important, one is the past sanskars. How early or how much time is taken depends on the amount of work already done in the past.Individuals progress reflects through the rays of REALISATIONS.When one starts getting realisations, means that the seed which he had sown, through the process had grown into a plant and now has started to yield fruits. Realisations may be sensory,in form of various bodily sensations, which is the result of the energy movement, redistribution and absorption. Those are fascinating but one has not stop and cling to them,as here the chances of deviation from the path are maximum.Rather giv ing them least of importance move ahead. Then are the realsations related to the Physical plane or the sthool jagat. At this stage you are now able to look at this world with different vision. You can see the begining of emergence of, clarity of thoughts, capacity to handle situations differently, not flickering or shaking in what so ever conditions. This is a very automatic process, and you will feel that it came effortlessly. Now compare it with techniques and ways, which people do to acheive this. They are taught, they are fed upto the throat and stressed to perform. Not going in much of the details lets talk about the most important realisations and that are realisations of the astral plane or sukshma jagat. These realisations are beyond the capacity of words and when one experiences them,he can feel them. The state of superconsciousness comes. The next stage is the union with the ultimate or touching the creator. These are the few of the steps of the journey.MEDITATION is the integral part of spirituality. If spirituality is a journey meditation is the movement.when the movement is regular and steady the journey becomes smooth and More productive and the aim to achieve the goal is fulfilled. The journey what we say is very scientific,as we define science as the the organised knowledge, obtained by observations and testing of facts, about the physical world, natural laws and society. It depends on the skill of an expert. What is science fiction?-fiction is often based on future or recent scientic discoveries and dealing with imaginary worlds, space travel or life on other planets. So if you are on a spiritual journey you are more than scientific, infact science appears to be very neonatal. What our people of the past had discovered thousands and thousands of years back, modern science is just able to reach upto a very minute level. Being spiritual doesn't mean that you are eccenteric,or you are not a part of the society. This only brings you the power of seeing things in more broader, clearer and transparent way.Just think of the fact, that who has labelled the term spirituality. Those were the people who were outside this arena.A scientist is busy in his research, and he is sincerely devoting all his energy towards any experiment,he is only concerned about his search and findings, this becomes a very integral part of his life, when he is successful,we the people call him as a great scientist. So who so ever develops power of clear, broader, and infinite vision may be called as spiritual. We know that what is the cause of eclipse, students are taught, but they are asked to experiment the basis of this phenomenon through lab experiments on models, the reason behind that is by those simple self observations they are able to understand better.Same is the case with spirituality we know many things about life, soul, birth rebirth etc., but we can only understand them when we will experiment them by our own and rediscover them.So with whatever your findings you come out,may not be new but they are your own,and by these you can start believing and gradually you develop faith. It's not just by sitting outside and outrageously contradicting it,Or blindfoldy believing any thing which is fed to us. The most important thing to be noticed and taken care of, is samskars or impressions.Samskars are the basic and fundamental impressions left on the heart of an individual, which are acquired in the present and the previous lives through various experiences. These samskars are a result of various activities of the entire life of an individual and therefore the progress or the failure of a person fully depends on the kind of Samskars in him. Samskar cleaning is a process,in which the embedded impressions are brought onto the surface and then allowed to go away.It cleanses you deeply of your fears, inner conflicts and limitations, rectifies negative life patterns that one might face and in place puts positive life patterns. One can have the better or true understanding of the problems. Most of the times we are worried and exert too much to find the solution of any existing problem, once we have identified it.This effort itself imprints an impression and adds to the prexisting load.In true sense unbiased and clear identification of the problem, itself will yield the solution, not necessarily immidiate, but may be after some time, when actually you are not thinking about it.Some patience is required.
Most of the people feel a sense of fascination and a desire to achieve a state of mystic visions, psychic intuition and heightened mental functioning. While meditators often report these sorts of improvements, these experiences should not be the primary reason for practice. The purpose of meditation is to bring us back to o urselves.
As we become healthier, happier and realize greater self-awareness, the other benefits of meditation begin to follow naturally -- improved mental functioning, greater intuition as well as greater access to unconscious resources and abilities.
Don't worry about the distraction. Meditation is not work in the sense that you have to "force" yourself to concentrate completely for long periods of time. If we consciously try to prevent thinking, it's going to have a negative impact on the meditation.
Instead, whenever we become lost in thought or confusion, we simply acknowledge those thoughts and then gently return the attention to the object of the meditation. We do this as many times as distraction or thought occurs. Eventually, the mind becomes calmer and wandering thoughts begins to slow.
Meditation helps us by giving us larger perspectives and increasing clarity of thought. But although our sense of inner guidance might become stronger, unless we act on those lines , we will never manifest the changes we truly want in our lives.
Once you have made your request, it's important that you let go. Don't be concerned with how you're going to get what you truly want in your life. Needing to know how can hamper the process of making it manifest in the outer world. Learn to trust your unconscious. Some changes -- perhaps all of them -- will happen automatically. I have personally found that many of my destructive habits simply dropped away with minimal conscious effort. Every one can achieve, not by mere self-discipline and will power, but rather a "letting go" and a realization that spiritual growth is a natural process powered by parts of ourselves that know more than we can understand consciously. As we let go consciously and receive more input from these parts, we learn to trust this feeling, this feeling that we are in safe hands and that something amazing is about to happen.
Meditation is not learning and doing, rather it is doing and learning. There is nothing like 'technique'in meditation. What ever you do is itself a technique of it's own.And actually you don't have to do anything in meditation, then what?,franlky speaking i also can't explain, and if somehow i explain you, then the real thing which i wan't you to know will be lost. The real thing is to be determined and sincere.we have to be in it, irrespective of the external or even internal environmental changes. You are bound to face resistance, once you are continuing with it.So if it happens, take it as it is.There is nothing very special happening to you, don't get disturbed,be sure it is going to happen. The foremost hurdle is of TIME.We start with a great pace, but very soon, come to a sudden halt.A specific time period assigned, for meditation, could be altered due to various causes, this causes, gap and even, a period lapses when for few days you are not able to devote time. I like the sentence..Focusing primarily on the experiences and bodily effects of meditation is like collecting oyster shells and discarding the pearls. And most of the times, most of the people are doing this.Starting the meditation process with a desire to get something itself, hampers the entire growth. We don't promise you any sort of peace of mind or sense of well being.Because i compare it as protecting somebody, from cold by wrapping him with blanket and if one is feeling hot and humid,by providing him with airconditioner. We stress on developing his inner strength and endurance. What i have seen by my experience is that people want, some readymade, easy to digest stuff. They want you to just bless them and they would get what ever they want. All their sufferings should vanish by just mere touch of Guru. They don't want to do anything on their own, they are ready to hear, ready to spend time with the guru, but they don't have the time to cultivate the divine knowledge by their own.
